Steven graduated from the University of Waterloo, where he served as the President of his co-op board, with a degree in Pure Math in 2002. He worked in Information Technology in Toronto before heading for Yue Yang where he taught at Bo Wen's Bu Xing Jie school and became an English teacher at Yue Yang Number 8 Middle School. In July he served as a host and translator to the 2005 team before returning home. Steven returned to UCS in 2007 to serve as the Headmaster of the Bu Xing Jie Branch School.
