Dan graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. After working for 4 years designing medical and consumer electronics products in the New York City area, he entered Pace University through the Teaching Fellows program and began studying for a Master's degree in Education.

He now teaches Physics at Central High School in Philadelphia.
