Carly has a bachelor's degree in German from Bennington College and a master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from New York University. She studies Mandarin at the China Institute. She teaches reading and science to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Dr. Sun Yat Sen Middle School in New York City's Chinatown.
